Alden Libby (Al) Blanchard

Remembered by his brother, Richard Bogardus Blanchard Jr.:

Alden also wound up in the navy as a seaman. He was sent to India, I think. I seem to remember a picture of him with a monkey in India. After that he was married several times, and has an undeterminate number of children, which, I am sorry to say, I have never met; and I don't even know who, or where, they are. He died in Indiana from diabetes at around 65 years old. As for silver, he, also, may have done some of the preliminary work of a silversmith apprentice, such as polishing, but I have only a hazy memory of what he and the other brothers did in that regard.
